Soprano DeLaine Crutchfield holds her Master of Music in Voice Performance from The University of Tennessee- Knoxville. Prior to her time in Knoxville, she moved from her hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia, to Berea, Ohio, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Baldwin Wallace University. She has been lauded by Arts Knoxville for her "persuasive blend of youthful spark and lovely Donizetti lyricism" in her portrayal of Adina in L'elisir d'amore. Her other notable performance credits include roles such as the Wife in Russell Smith's The Unicorn in the Garden, Ms. Paige in Dan Shore's An Embarrassing Position, Dater #8 and #18 in Michael Ching's Speed Dating Tonight!, the title role in Amelia al ballo, Anne Trulove in The Rake's Progress, Elisetta in Il matrimonio segreto, and Cat in the world premiere of Jennifer Connor's Dog Meets Cat at Cleveland Opera Theatre's N.O.W. Festival.

During Graduate School, DeLaine worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant where she taught applied voice. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for voice science and pedagogy. Since, she has developed a successful private voice studio where she teaches students of all ages and musical abilities voice technique, music theory, aural skills, diction, and audition prep. She also worked as a Lecturer of Voice at both Georgia College and State University and Middle Georgia State University before joining the music faculty at Kennesaw State University. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and takes much pride in the many awards and scholarships from various organizations that her students have won under her guidance.
